Invisalign® straightens teeth using a series of clear, custom-made aligning trays — no metal brackets or wires required.

What it can correct

Invisalign® treats many of the same issues as traditional braces, including:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Crossbite, overbite, and underbite

How it works

You'll wear a series of nearly invisible aligners, each one gently shifting your teeth into place, and switch to a new tray every few weeks as we track your progress. Unlike veneers, which cover teeth, Invisalign® actually moves them into a healthier position.

Aligners are removable for eating and special occasions, but for the best results, they should stay in for most of the day and night — taking them out only to eat or drink anything besides water helps avoid trapping food against your teeth.

Plan on 20 to 22 hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule. The aligners come out for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing.
Yes — teeth naturally try to drift back after any orthodontic treatment. We recommend custom Vivera retainers to protect your investment and keep your new smile in place.
Some patients notice a slight lisp for the first few days while the tongue adjusts to the aligners. It almost always resolves quickly, and most people find that talking through it deliberately speeds up the adjustment.
Take the aligners out for everything except plain water. Eating with them in can crack them, and coffee, tea, or anything sugary can stain them or trap sugar against your teeth. Brush before putting them back in whenever you can.
