Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots — typically titanium — surgically placed into the jawbone to permanently replace missing teeth.

Why patients choose implants

  • Look and feel like natural teeth, often enhancing your smile
  • Strong and durable, built to last many years
  • Restore natural chewing, speech, and confidence
  • Prevent the bite problems that come from shifting teeth
  • Provide secure support for a crown, bridge, or denture

The treatment process

Implant treatment happens in stages: first, we take images and molds to evaluate your jawbone and plan the procedure. The implant is then surgically placed under anesthesia, followed by a healing period — sometimes up to several months — while it integrates with the bone. Depending on the implant type, a second minor procedure may follow before your custom-made artificial tooth is fabricated and attached, typically over one to two months.

What do dental implants cost in Austin?

If your dental plan covers implants, your out-of-pocket cost is usually far lower than the sticker price: many of the plans we work with cover implant treatment at 50–80%, so many insured patients pay around $600–$1,500* out of pocket for a single-tooth implant, subject to your plan's annual maximum. Without insurance, our complete office fees — implant post, abutment, and crown together — typically run $3,900–$6,100, in line with typical Austin-area pricing for complete treatment. Quotes that sound dramatically lower often cover only the implant post, so always ask what's included. Any needed extraction or sinus lift is separate and quoted up front.

What else moves the price: whether bone grafting is needed first (typically an additional $600–$900), and how many teeth are being replaced — implant-supported bridges and implant-secured dentures replace multiple teeth without needing an implant for each one. After your consultation and imaging we give you a complete written cost breakdown, verify exactly what your insurance contributes, and offer monthly financing through Cherry or CareCredit.

Frequently asked questions

With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, implants can last decades — often a lifetime.
Most healthy adults with adequate jawbone are candidates. We'll evaluate your specific situation, including bone density, at a consultation.
The implant is placed under local anesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the procedure — many patients say it was easier than they expected. Mild soreness for a few days afterward is normal and typically manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers.
Yes. A few strategically placed implants can support a bridge or secure a full denture, replacing several teeth — or a full arch — without needing an implant for every missing tooth.
Plan on several months from start to finish. The implant needs time to fuse with the jawbone before the final tooth is attached, and if bone grafting is needed first that adds to the timeline. We map out the full schedule for your case at your consultation so you know what to expect.
